Plate Rolling

Custom “Plate and Sheet Rolling” includes capacities from gauge material to heavy plates. Formed shapes include cylinders, cones (concentric and eccentric), changing radii, reverses, ellipses, and sweeping or helical sections. We can form your cut to size/shape material or we can provide shearing up to ½” by 14’-0”, CNC Plasma, and Oxy-Acytelene Cutting to help expedite your job. Our experience allows for the quality control you need to complete your projects in a timely manner.

We can work from your CAD files, sketches, or full size templates (paper, wood, etc.). No job too small!

We roll plate and sheet up to 10′ wide, from light gauge up to 8″ thick, with the maximum thickness depending on the width of the plate. Typical rolled shapes include cylinders, concentric and eccentric cones, changing radii, reverses, ellipses, and sweeping or helical sections. On-ice, ambient, and hot forming are available, with the process chosen for the material and the shape required.

Plate Rolling Questions

How wide and how thick of a plate can you roll?

We roll plate up to 10′ wide, from light gauge up to 8″ thick. The maximum thickness we can roll depends on the width of the plate.

What shapes can you roll from plate?

We roll plate into cylinders, concentric and eccentric cones, changing radii, reverses, ellipses, and sweeping or helical sections.

What is the difference between a concentric and an eccentric cone?

A concentric cone has its top and bottom openings on the same centerline, while an eccentric cone has one opening offset to the side. We roll both from plate.

Can you cut the plate before you roll it?

Yes. We can form material you have already cut to size or shape, or we can provide shearing up to ½″ by 14′-0″, CNC plasma, and oxy-acetylene cutting to help expedite your job.

Do you offer hot rolling for heavy plate?

Yes. Along with ambient forming, we offer hot forming and on-ice forming. The process we use depends on the material and the shape required.

Do you roll thin sheet metal or only heavy plate?

Both. Our plate and sheet rolling runs from gauge material up to heavy plate, and there is no job too small.
